@thinkinsidethebox:

Hey it's your perspective, your entitled to your limited veiw

FYI an example of 'a limited view' is your supposition that the few people hand-picked by CBC to speak out on the subject of blackface is the exact opinion of all black people.

It's the epitome of thinking inside the MSM's box.

Quote

As long as it's not "THINKININSIDETHEBOX", somebody needs to bring new ideas and an outside perspective into these conversations.

Think inside the box is pretty easy to understand. You can go with the extra in if you want.

Quote

Because people like you won't move on? I don't know, his new scandals are too insignificant for you?

No, it's because the media told you to move on and like a good little sheep, you did.

They say things like "Polls say that Canadians don't care about about Blackface, SNC, Adm Norman, We" and they also say  things like "We interviewed the two official spokespersons for black people and they said it was a-ok" and you mange, mange, mange.

Quote

Gays have rights over other special interest groups?

That's not what that meant, at all. Go back and read it again.

Quote

Nothing to do with it.

So you don't have an answer. Not surprised.

Quote

Yeah, the right are totally immune to this, Trudeau became leader of the Liberals and the first thing Harper did was attack him, Trump doesn't even let facts slow him down. Apparently it's a prerequisite for political success.

You don't understand the difference between an accurate comment like "A vacuous twit with a haphazard resume isn't fit to lead a country" and BS smears like "Trump is the Bill Clinton-lite of misogyny, and that's unacceptable!" or "Trump referred to immigrants as animals". The last one is an actual lie FYI, and I do know that I have to spell that out for you.

Quote

What could be more negative than that? Are you guilty of systemic racism? Don't lie. If your skin is lighter than a brown paper bag the answer is YES or you're an even bigger, more aggressive racist.

Than you?

That's not an admission of the fact that you're guilty of systemic racism, therefor you're a racist by decree of your own chosen leaders.

So you feel that all political leaders should be required to go to gay pride parades? Have I got that right? What about Muslims and Hindus and Orthodox Jews? What else? Attend BLM protests and bend th

That's a dumb Idea. It'd a dumb idea for them to go there, but for them to be forced to go there is...i don't have the words for that stupid.

But racist blackface PMs are OK ?

I don't know, the past is the past, get over it. What he is doing as leader is what concerns me. I honestly don't give a damn what other world leaders think, again Canada has the ability to be independent and a leader if we just had the guts to to it.

Yes he is still the PM.... Thats part of the problem, you don't care what he is doing as the leader of this nation, how many scandals/ ethics breaches/breaking the law/ broken promises does it take for you and other to take notice... and it's good you don't care what the other world leaders think, i mean Justin socks are cute, but cute is not leadership... Canada does not have what it takes to be a world leader, nor do we have any leaders worthy of that undertaking. Atleast those in politics.

I don't care? Go back and read my previous posts...

Obviously you think he's doing such a great job today this is all you have on him.

I did not stutter, I said that all Justins scandals, ethics breaches, breaking laws, broken promises, not to mention failed MP's who have fallen on their swords to protect Justin, none of that matters to other Liberal voters, they are blind to it.

The fact that he has a list of failed relations with other leaders of the world some of those leaders are close allied, the USA , Australia, to name a few... And do you honestly think the other world leaders think highly of him because of his socks, or the fact he loves to show them off.... do you think they take him seriously, when they mock him.

DO you think they take him seriously when he signs a NATO accord, then a couple days later in Canadian media says he has no intention of living up to spending the 2 % of GDP.... Not to mention Climate change, and all his promises to Canadians, and over the last 5 years what has he accomplished, sweet F**** all really , he pushed it down the road like everything he has promised...It is not just the world that I'm worried about, it is Canadians and if they don't care like yourself then it says something about your character, it says plenty on what it is to be Canadian.

Now it's his socks... You have such hatred for the person you can't see beyond his party choices and fashion sense. Maybe Value Village didn't have black socks that day, who gives a damn?

I'd hope world leaders would be mature enough not to notice or do you think they see it when they bow to his holiness. Here's a news flash, Canada is not that important on the world stage.

Your last paragraph is what should be addressed, that proves he is an incompetent leader. What we need now is someone who will run that addresses these issues and proposes solutions not Trudeau 2.0. I don't care what party he/she leads.

Sounds like you're bitter he chose Sophie over you.

Trump IS shallow, narcissistic, dishonest and incompetent.

And you didn't answer the question. If nothing I said was incorrect why are you taking offense? Do you have a man crush on Trudeau?

That's opinion based on feelings, not supported by fact.  JT is not a great leader and he's accomplished little of note that I can see, but that could be said of many leaders.  Yes, there've been scandals, just like there've been scandals for virtually every PM that I can remember.  He's pretty average, really, but he's not a disaster by any stretch.

With regard to the actual topic, ie., the Progressive Conservatives, I blame the educational system. We no longer have many Conservatives in Canada because most Canadians don't know anything about the origins of Conservaism. Diefenbaker was probably the last true Conservative leader, though his performance as a PM was not that great. Canadaians know very little about this country. I was on duty for the celebration of Prime Minister Diefenbaker's 100th birthday celebration at the University of Saskatchewan. I was approached by a student who asked what was going on. When I told him, he asked "Who's John Diefenbaker?" We were standing  just over 500 metres from the grave of the Chief.

We are approaching the non-celebration of Canada's Independence Day. How many people even know when that is? How many Canadians know who our Head of State is? How many Canadians who think they are Conservatives actually are?

No, it's subjective, but based on reasonable criteria. JT is the selfy guy, who loves the camera and always has. As far back as college he was doing everything he could to get attention. The costumes, including that cringy visit to India are an aspect of that. He's style over substance. Dishonest? He's been caught outright lying to Canadians multiple times, something previous Canadian leaders preferred to avoid. They'd talk around a subject rather than tell a bald-faced lie, but Trudeau has no such issues. Remember when he told a press conference that everything in the Globe and Mail story detailing his attempts to stop the prosecution of SNC Lavelin was untrue? As for competence, his government has mismanaged everything about this pandemic from day one, and continues to do so.

All politicians love attention - they have to.

Harper outright lied, according to plenty of people.  But whether he did or not is in the eye of the beholder; same can be said of Trudeau.

If Trudeau mishandled this pandemic, so did pretty much every world leader.  Trudeau may not have been the best, but he's far from the worst.

So yeah, like I said - pretty average over all.  Nothing special, but not a disaster.

But we can agree to disagree on this.

No, it can't. Not unless you're dishonest yourself. Trudeau demonstrably lied when he outright denied the Globe story on the SNC Lavalin affair. If you can find an example where Harper lied so fully, completely and knowingly to us by all means let us know. But it still won't change that Trudeau lied.

What the hell has that got to do with the statement? He screwed up. His government mishandled it from the start. There isn't any 'if' to it.

Harper lied about Duffy.

The point is that Trudeau is nothing more than 'average'.  He's not the disaster you intimate.

I know hyperbole is your style, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to take a step back to gain some perspective.

In the 2006 campaign, Harper promised Saskatchewan he would change the equalization formula by exempting our oil and gas. It was a balf-faced lie. He then went on to promise not to change income trust. taxation. Another lie. Then he lied by saying Ralph Goodale was under investigation by the RCMP. The Reform / Socialist Credit are the biggest liars we've had in generations.

You want to call election promises lies go ahead. I'll spit back a thousand or so that came from your Liberals. As for slander, we see enough of that from you guys every single year. Even the milquetoast Scheer was labelled as so far right Adolph Hitler would have shied away from him.

Anyway, you like lies. That's why you're a devoted Liberal.

It is not my beliefs. Conservatism is a movement that is over three hundred years old. It grew out of the succession crisis and the basic credo is loyalty to our traditions. While Tories may be a minority in Canada, our Conservative values are baked into the Constitution. Republican, Liberals and NDP may not like it but after the Meech disaster, no sane government will ever change it.

Now that is slander. I worked on every Conservative campaign from 1962 (Jim MacFarlane' campaign) until the reform / Socialist Credit republican Bolsheviks and their running dog lackey MacKay destroyed the Progressive Conservative Party. You want to talk about a gang of liars, look no farther than those theiving, lying republican bastards.

Having had the Conservative party destroyed, I have a choice of either not voting, holding my nose and voting Grit, or voting for my local candidate. I won't be voting for Trudeau. He lost my vote with SNC.

Aside from the bottom feeding bolshevik crooks in the reform party, I have respect for  people in other parties. Ralph Goodale, Roy Romanow and Stephen Ward come to mind. After all, it is only politics.

I voted for Kevin Waugh (and by extention Mr. Sheer) and I still have hope for Mr. O'Toole.

On reflection, I don't really dislike reformers. After all, it's only politics and I get carried away like our beloved, Taxme.

Well this has deteriorated, I actually thought you were more mature than this...

I state judge the man on his current performance and you are all over him as a person.
