future of the Republican party

Recommended Posts

just because its probably a really good topic right now. trumpism? no trumpism? do establishment Rs and Ts slaughter each other? does trump create his own party?

my fist topic about it... the famous Marjorie Taylor Greene! oh shes going to be a handful.

Marjorie Taylor Greene claims Trump's backing amid intra-GOP debate over her fitness to serve

no one has confirmed her claim that Trump is backing her. dealing with her seems like a no win situation. damned if you do and damned if you don't.

i'm seriously hoping for the Patriot Party! no holds barred Trumpism needs a place.

this looks interesting.

Rep. Jim Banks, chair of largest House conservative caucus, previews GOP agenda post Trump

"Trump taught the GOP how to stand up to China, Wall Street and Big Tech and fight for working men and women, Banks said. Those priorities must remain, Banks said, but coupled with a more traditional GOP agenda of balanced budgets and reforming entitlement programs to restore fiscal responsibility.

"I'm the first Republican to admit that Republicans have lost their way on fiscal responsibility," Banks said of the bloated budgets and ballooning debt under Trump's tenure."

They did none of that. China increased its trade deficit. Wall Street made record profits. Big Tech increased its power and profits. And the only thing they did for ordinary working men and women was take away much of their health care and let them die of covid.

As long as the base loves Trump the political whores in the Republican Party will continue to bow before him. Greene is not the only nutjob in that party, either. There is a ton of money available for anyone who wants to primary sitting Republican leaders by promising to be further right than they are and cut taxes more. The moneymen don't care how nutty these people are as long as they promise to cut their taxes. Most Republican congressional seats are completely safe, either because of gerrymandering or because they're in deep red states. What they really fear is being primaried. That's the real election. The general election is an assumed win. Witness the aforementioned nut job Greene, and her soul sister Lauren Boebert. Along with other greasy types like Tommy Tuberville or Devin Nunes.

i don't think things are so rosy. haha.

Trump had one term and in the process lost the house, senate and presidency. Trump can say that he turns out R voters but what he also does is turn out D voters... even more.

the R bean counters know this.

MTG now says she had a nice phone call with Trump.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene discloses ‘great call’ with Trump

and that

"I would never even consider hurting anybody. Never," Greene said. "And I've never carried a gun in Washington DC, not once. ... They're all at home in Georgia."

hilarious. is she backing down on the gun thing now? no blood necessary to take back the country? which is it?

and its too late for the parents of Sandy Hook etc... she already hurt those people badly.

but i'm going take a chance here and propose that she will be admitting that Sandy Hook was real shortly in order to attempt to stay on the Education Committee that shes on.

And next election when Trump isn't around to outrage people? What then? I think if Biden continues to push full-throated identity politics the white voters who abandoned Trump and voted Democrat will return to the Republican Party and they'll take back both the senate and the house.

this is interesting... i propose its still Trump shredding the Rs. he'll be busy trashing Ds but also Rs he doesn't like. and the thing is that intelligent Rs have already figured it out that Trump may be powerful with his base and Rs in general but if he can't get independents and in fact, turns off establishment Rs then. the Rs are done.

Trump stocks new PAC with tens of millions as he bids to retain control of GOP

obviously Trump has issues with revenge... he'll go to his grave trying to fuck people for slighting him.

looks like Dems are putting McCarthy over a barrel!

Dems moving ahead with vote to strip Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee posts

the Rs and their machinery have really been trying to shore up the Trump base... but their appears to be a lot of confidence from Ds and establishment Rs that the position is untenable.

Greene would not concede to McCarthy, McCarthy has not been able to negotiate a deal with the Ds.

MTG apologizes to Rs in private. states she will never do in public.

Greene apologizes to GOP colleagues — and gets standing ovation

Apparently Republican Senator Lindsey Graham feels differently about the future of the Republican party than Progressive Socialists and other followers of the Corporate left's media do.

Quote

Graham said of McConnell, "I like him," but called his post-acquittal takedown of the former president "an outlier of how Republicans feel about all this."

"Trump-plus is the way back in 2022," Graham told host Chris Wallace.

I would imagine if you're a Republican running in Arizona or Georgia or New Hampshire, where we have a chance to take back the Senate, they may be playing Sen. McConnell's speech and asking you about it as a candidate," Graham told host Chris Wallace. "And I imagine if you're an incumbent Republican, they're going to be people asking if you will support Sen. McConnell in the future."

True though, Graham is the definitive political weather vane. He will say the polar opposite of what he said yesterday and doesn't care who calls him on it. The man has zero principles.

Well, I have to say I'm looking forward to the effort.

2024, what've we got?  The Paris Olympics.  The Euros, of course.  Probably an Ashes.

We're gonna need some amusement to fill the gaps.

only fools pledge allegiance to one man. thats called a cult.

but back on topic. yeah, Trump doesn't have to just defeat the "left" anymore... he has a war within his own party to fight first. and Ds would love for Trump to come back in 2024. they'd just show insurrection videos all day... the same videos that 70% of voters blame him for. Ds are just going to go about running the country for four years while Trump destroys the republican party.

no, the Rs have to ditch that pig now, and they know it. Thats why Mitch "the traitor" McConnell and others are pushing in that direction.

You say allegiance. I say support. Which term makes the user of the term sound more desperate? Insults (unless they're counter-punches) suggest desperation.

And all Trump has to do is hang on to the 75 million voters that supported him then make sure the next election is fair. That will be possible after the midterms. Republicans should sweep. Providing those midterms are not fixed as bad as the 2020 election was.
