What is it about Harper?

Recommended Posts

It is quite easy to explain that the provinces have not done a good job. They simply have not attempted to do a job at all.

Why is the federal government "sticking its nose into a provincial jurisdiction?

It is doing because the provinces are not attending to this obligation. You see, although you probably don't, we are living in what passes for a civilized country that those who can make such silly comments seem to want a shift to barbarism. The federal government has an overriding responsibility for the welfare of the nation. It can act if provinces fail to do so.

The one saving grace of our constitutional setup is this power. It comes under the heading of peace, order, and good government.

Can anyone read that and say it's not babble?

To quote " It is doing because the provinces are not attending to this obligation"

Not doing what?? I haven't heard anyone here complaining about daycare! Liberal's are creating a black hole without anyone wanting it!

Well have another sip of whatever you a drinking! I do live in a civilized country, except that Liberals, drive around in limos, but call me a barbarian because I want my country to survive! Or, oops, I don't vote Liberal!

BUTT out of my area of expertise, and start getting real about locking criminal UP for a long time.

If you have not heard anyone complaining about daycare, then you are not listening. There is a desperate need and shortage of facilities. There are a number of organizations that have been lobbying for it for years.

And what is your area of expertise that I am to BUTT out of.

That would be childcare. Who tells you there is a desperate need??? Not me! I had no problem finding a loving, caring dayHOME, to look after my kids. Might the Liberals be creating a problem that doesn't really exist??? The only organizations lobbying are the ones that can't compete with people who really care about kids, they don't think of them are $ signs, but the ones lobbying do. They want a monopoly on our kids, and I refuse to accept that mind numbing Liberal hypocrisy.

As for that mom who forgot about her child...

A public daycare forgot a child inside and left her overnight. And apparently it was not the first incident.

Now why did that happen? How could they have missed a child in there?

Could it be lack of communications? Inadequate procedures?

Union-mentality workers who would not dare do a little bit more than what was required of them? "Oh, it's not in my job description." "Oh, It's 6.00 on the dot. If I go round to check will I get over-time pay?"

For mistakes of a few rotten parents, why should we go to extremes in finding a so-called solution that will not eliminate the problem?

It seems that all parents are being lumped as irresponsible and do not have the ability to make sensible judgements or decisions, regarding the quality of the daycare they want to put their child in....so the government will decide for them!

So typically Liberal. Control and manipulations in everything.

All I hear is "Who will monitor this? Who will REPORT this?"....gee, Canada is really sounding like the old Soviet Union.

In places like the old Russia, children are taken to government-funded facilities at an early age to get brain-washed or "re-programmed". They're molded to think the way the government wants them to think, to believe what the government wants them to believe.

If you want to really know what's going on in every household, then why don't we get just a tad bit more extreme and just put surveillance camera in every room of every household?

FYI child molestations/abuse do happen in public daycares too. For some reasons,

schools, daycares, orphanages or anywhere there are groups of children about....somehow, these places seem to be like magnets for pedophiles.

Betsy says: Union-mentality workers who would not dare do a little bit more than what was required of them? "Oh, it's not in my job description." "Oh, It's 6.00 on the dot. If I go round to check will I get over-time pay?"

I'm guessing thats the main reason they left, the whistle blew, and bingo, they are gone.

Betsy:
What is it about Harper that the media and other people are complaining about?  I look at the guy on tv and I don't get why they're endlessly "harping" about his looks.  Okay, let's get shallow and focus on the "looks".

Ipsos Reid released a poll after the 2nd debate and one of the questions was:

Which leader do you think was the most visually attractive?

36% - Stephen Harper

29% - Jack Layton

14% - Paul Martin

12% - Gilles Duceppe

9% - Don't know

I don't put much stock in stuff like this, but thought I would post it for your interest (amusement?)

Wow, I missed this! Thanks. I do find him attractive.

After years of running with the old liberal line about Stephen Harper being the devil and yet more years of trying their best to dig up any dirt, sorry none there, I guess all they have left is his looks. Pretty pathetic when you think about it. At least it proves they have nothing else to 'harp' on. The man is decent, moral and intelligent which is much more than can be said for the liberal leader.
