Closest to center

Recommended Posts

Liberal is leaning too far left. Really gung-ho on taking the role of "Big Brother" with dubious programs that will be extravagant. And it had become ban-crazy. The direction they're heading is something to be concerned about....seems to be heading the same direction as NDP.

NDP is far too left too, no wonder it's being confused with Communism. Either instigated or backs the same social policies of Liberal. Ban-crazy too. And much bigger spending too.

Liberal and NDP will need someone to pay for all these expenses. So why do I expect any tax-reductions? I mean, a real tax break?

Green is ultra left. This talk of "Healthy Everything" makes me cringe. Just imagining how they will implement that already gives me the creeps. I bet this will be the one who'll really go on a ban-frenzy.

With expenses, I really don't want to think about it. He's been complaining about child poverty in Canada which the Liberal had failed to solve. No problem with that. But now, he's talking solving GLOBAL child poverty. Let's be realistic here.

There's only so much we can do....and we can afford.

Conservative is the only one that is closest to the center.

Strange that it is working out the way, I do agree. Harper is taking the CPC to the centre and only just slightly to the right of it - liberal lite. Obviously this is the reason Paul Martin wraps himself in the flag and declares anyone who doesn't share the Liberal's values are hmmm 'uncanadian'. Why, because there's nothing to scare people with anymore.

Harper is not evenclose to the centre; even with his new public persona and modified stance. He is a liberal from the nineteenth century: a breed that was thought to have become extinct and unlamented.

The man is a complete fool if he thinks that he is progressive: worse than a criminal if his regressive taxation policies are ( as is more likely ) for the benefit onlyof the sector of society that is most prone to vote Conservative.

Well I guess there is nothing to argue about then, you seem to know so much more than the rest of us perhaps you could finish your lecture with some elaboration on the "facts" just presented?

I find it quite interesting that you label as "worse than criminal" some one who actually has a tax policy while defending some one who may actually be a criminal who apparently has none.

All the elaboration has been done. The only tax policy that Harper has is to say "taxes only over my dead body:" only one that is to collect some taxes on behalf of the Provinces.

As for some one who "may be a criminal," you are just repeating the sleaziest allegation in the history of Canadian politics.

Gee, can't say I've ever heard any one say "taxes only over my dead body:" guess I don't tune in to that channel LOL

I'd take Harper's very progressive program over the regressive liberal 'hands in your pocket' policies. Only a complete fool would believe the tired old liberal rhetoric. Oh yeah, I know, I forgot, Tax me, I'm Canadian.

I think that you should just tune in. You should try to assess the consequences of "proposals" rather than simply say; "give me the money."

There is nothing sleazy, that as Prime Minister and the de facto head of the Liberal Party of Canada, Paul Martin has not done the right thing and offered to pay back the money stolen from Canadians. Not even the slightest gesture of good will. That speaks more or I should say less about the man and the party than any issue discussed on this board.

Liberals are centre-right and at times middle-right during when they have had majorities, though they run an election platfom as centre-left.

Conservatives are middle-right to far-right, though they are running an election platform by pretending to be centre-right.

NDP are centre-left and are running an election platform as centre-left. This contrasts with the Liberals and Conservatives who are pretending to be something they're not in order to fool voters to vote for them.

Agreed although you never know with the Liberals. I mean they are an unscrupulous party that says anything to get themselves elected and then "forget" every promise they and steal taxpayer money while preaching hate for anyone who disagrees with them.

The Conservative Party is the only choice in this election.

But talk about ban-crazy, the CPC is the only party advocating criminalization of possessing small amounts of weed.

I don't agree with that but I don't think much will come of it.

For how many years have the Liberals agreed to decriminalize it???
