I'm not quite sure what you're getting.

on a one vote per person equal to all the other million people.

This is the part where you confuse me a little. Do you mean that one persons vote is equivalent to a million other peoples votes?

Are you sure you're not a Bot?

No. He's
  1. Known as "Rbacon" here and elsewhere;
  2. A Jew-hater;
  3. A person with very bizarre historical ideas;and
  4. Widely picked on in this forum for reasons that escape me.

Good point. I'll hit the research books on how to rectify that. By the way, I have changed my description under my name from "Yank Left Winger" to "Queen-paid poster".

I really do like having you around Queens Slave. You're like that very strong and pungent spice, not very nice on its own but interesting when mixed with other spices. Thats why I kinda hope you dont become discouraged, after all every village needs its idiot to laugh at (discretely).\

Oh, by the way, please do continue to be incoherent in your posts, it really is a source of endless amusement to me.

What she meant was that she regretted deeply having to use the military for self-preservation, when that self-preservation meant shedding the blood of other soldies who, after all, are someone's sons. She was ultimately a humane and big-hearted person.

All she had to do is act humane and grant a right of return for the Palestinians.' instead as a racist with ethnic cleansing actions.

Ethnic cleansing?

You mean self-defense in the unprovoked 1973 War?

If the west was to expel all french people to quebec with no compensation or right of return what would you call it? a democracy.
And that has what to do with Israeli self-defense efforts in an unprovoked war started on our holiest day? Edited by jbg

Save your typing fingers, jbg! We rational folks never seem to get a sensible answer to this sort of question.

It's like when your kid is being repeatedly bullied at school. Those few times the bully is caught gets him some "sensitivity training" and "anger management" classes.

Meanwhile he continues to bully his victim with impunity. If the victim is caught fighting back then BOTH are punished! In effect, your kid becomes a victim twice.

This illogic comes from accepting questionable premises before properly considering evidence and then ignoring all such evidence afterwards that might deny your original flawed premise.

It also usually comes from people who have never been attacked themselves. They can only comprehend the idea of self-defence when it's for their own benefit. Meanwhile they hold ridiculous beliefs like "It takes TWO to fight!" and "Violence never solved anything!".

Except for 9/11, no one has lobbed rockets into American or Canadian cities, repeatedly striking civilians at random. Many folks on this side of the pond seem simply incapable of the empathy or wit to understand the position Israel is in.

Remember the old "Billy Jack" movies? The rednecks in town were always beating up the hippies in the farm commune just outside. The hippies believed in non-violence. Billy Jack would come in, kick the crap out of the evil rednecks and save the hippies in the name of peace, love and dove.

No one ever seemed to realize that if Billy Jack had not been willing and able to fight those hippies would have been done like dinner and their non-violent commune would have withered up and disappeared.

That happened to me when I struck a kid who was busy putting chewing gum in my hair in eighth grade. I was told to be "sensitive" to the fact that his parents were going through a divorce.

I never saw the movie, but I do like "One Tin Soldier". I wonder if Queenie likes that song.

Unprovoked? Israel was occupying what turned out to be the two main battlefields of that war - The Sinai and the Golan Heights...unprovoked...

By that definition, Germany has the right to attack the US, since our forces are still in place post WW-II. The Sinai and Golan Hieghts were occupied as a result of the hostile buildup provoking the pre-emptive 1967 War.

Yeah, all these PLO apologists seem to think that Israel should give back the lands her enemies used to set up all their rocket launchers, so that they can set them up again!

She should not worry about these rocket launchers because even though the Arabs have said repeatedly that they will wipe Israel off the face of the earth this is just a cultural expression that really means "We're only slightly pissed at you. Do what we want or we'll write a Letter to the Editor!"

Nice try. Germany is a soveriegn country. US forces are in Germany at thier soveriegn governments agreement.

I don't think the same can be said of the Golan Heights today, nor the Sinai in 1973.

Propagandize all you want over the matter. The fact is that in 1973, The IDF was occupying land that was not Israel; that they had siezed in 1967 and refused to give up.

Unprovoked my ass.

First, learn to spell in at least one of Canada's official languages.

Sovereign "agreement" as to troops that were just "hanging out" after the fall of Berlin in 1945? Nice try. We know that European countries can't keep their mitts off each other without our help.

One of the points not mentioned by "Wild Bill" is that one of the precipitants to the 1967 War was Syria's preparations to reduce or eliminate Israel's ability to draw water from the Sea of Galilee and/or the Jordan River. That, and the clear preparation for invasion by Syria and Egypt, and Jordan's joinder of the war one day later, led to the occupation of the land. If no one is pressing China to free Tibet, and no one was seriously pressing the USSR to liberate the Baltic states and the Iron Curtain countries, again, why only Israel?
